Dhaka fest 2022 to host Iranian ‘The Great Leap’

The 2022 Dhaka Int’l Film Festival is to host Iranian film ‘The Great Leap’.

Iranian film ‘The Great Leap’ has been scheduled to compete at the 20th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.

Directed by Karim Lakzadeh and produced by Mohammadreza Shafiee, the movie narrates the story of a man and a woman named Maryam, who along with three people left from a circus, go on an adventure to find their lost ones.

The cast of the film includes Sonia Sanjari, Pegah Ahangarani, Pedram Shafiee, Sasan Kaveh, Hamed Nejabat, Ali Saadi, Mohammad Rezapour Moqadam, Zahra Ebrahimi, Aslan Shah Ebrahimi, Meysam Damanzeh, Behzad Dorani and Noushin Karimi.

The feature film has already participated in several international film festivals including 17th edition of the Fantaspoa Film Festival in Brazil.

The website of the Dhaka Film Festival states that, the “DIFF is a bold expression of resistance against the decadence, vulgarity and cheap commercialism that pervades the mainstream Bangladesh film industry”.

The 20th edition of the event is scheduled for January 15-23, 2022.
